"Fedora Man" from the Louvre Turns Out to Be a Regular Teen

The mystery surrounding the photo of a stylish young man that went viral worldwide after a jewelry theft at the Louvre Museum in Paris has been solved. It turns out that the "mysterious detective" was just a 15-year-old teenager who was at the scene by coincidence. According to the German magazine "Der Spiegel" and the Associated Press, the young man is named Pedro Elias Garzon Delpho, a resident of a Parisian suburb. He was visiting the museum with his mother on the day of the incident when photographers captured him standing near police officers during the chaos that followed the theft of millions of dollars worth of jewelry. The widely circulated photo showed the young man wearing an elegant hat, a three-piece suit, and a long coat, which led many to believe he was a professional investigator, even dubbing him the "Fedora Man" online. The young man explained that he didn't know he was being photographed and enjoyed the wide debate surrounding his image, saying, "My family and I had a good laugh reading the theories about me." As interest grew, some theories went so far as to claim the photo was generated by artificial intelligence. But the truth was much simpler. As for his future plans after this sudden fame, the French teenager says he hasn't decided yet how to make use of the "fifteen minutes of fame" that chance gave him in front of the Louvre. "I waited a bit before revealing my identity because I wanted to enjoy playing the part of a fake detective a little longer," Delpho added. He confirmed that what he was wearing that day was not a special outfit but his usual style, inspired by classic 1940s elegance. Der Spiegel was able to reach him through his Instagram account, where he posts similar photos in a classic style.
