Louvre Staff Extends Strike

Employees of the Louvre Museum in Paris have unanimously voted to extend their strike for a second day, demanding improved working conditions and visitor services. This was announced by two union organizations following a general meeting held on Wednesday morning. A representative of the French Democratic Confederation of Labour (CFDT), Valerie Bo, told journalists outside the museum: "The strike was voted unanimously." The General Confederation of Labour (CGT), in turn, wrote on Instagram that "the proposals from the (culture) ministry were considered insufficient and unacceptable by the staff." On Wednesday, visitors found the famous museum closed, with a sign on the door reading: "The museum is currently postponed."
