Today in Paris, there is an auction of rare comic issues of "Tintin" by Belgian artist Hergé. Some of them contain dedications, for example: "Tintin - it's just me in the latest issue". The auction is organized by the Tajan auction house and features a collection of Philippe Ortiz Patin from Bolivia.
One of the key lots is a unique edition of "Tintin in America" from 1932, published by Casterman, which is valued at 200,000 euros. Hergé personally wrote a dedication in this copy on December 5, 1933, to his friend and mentor Charles Eyzen, a spiritual leader of a scout troop at the Saint-Boniface Institute in Brussels, where the artist spent five years.
Most of the 75 items presented for sale are in almost new condition, while some are in very good shape, allowing for the visibility of the original colors of the covers.
