At the auction houses "Colin Du Bouquet" and "Barbarossa" it was reported that the skeleton of a huge dinosaur Vulcan, belonging to the species of dinosaurs from the family Abelisauridae, was sold at a public auction in Paris. The length of the skeleton is 20 meters. The total sale amount was 4.7 million euros (approximately five million dollars), which makes it one of the most expensive dinosaurs ever sold at auction in France.
The received price did not surpass the record sale of the dinosaur skeleton "Big John", which was sold for six million euros in Paris in 2021. Approximately 80% of the costs for the "Vulcan" skeleton were hidden, and before the auction, its estimated value ranged from three to five million euros, while the indicated sale amount of 4.7 million euros does not include VAT and auction commissions.
