European Foreign Ministers Meet in Paris on Ukraine

Seven European foreign ministers met in Paris to discuss strategies for strengthening Ukraine's position in negotiations to end the war with Russia. They emphasized the need for collaboration with American allies in these efforts.

The foreign ministers of European countries and Ukraine stated in the evening in Paris that "Europe and Kyiv should take part in any negotiations" regarding the cessation of hostilities between Moscow and Kyiv. This came after U.S. President Donald Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin agreed to start "unmediated" talks on this issue.

The foreign ministers of France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine underscored in a joint statement that "our common goal should be the strengthening of Ukraine." They also noted that they want "to coordinate with our American partners the necessary steps."

They added: "We must participate in the negotiations and discuss the necessary steps to achieve our common goal - to end the conflict."
