French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrau stated today that his American counterpart Mark Rubino informed European foreign ministers that the United States is striving for a sustainable peace in Ukraine. He also clarified that their goal does not encompass a temporary cessation of hostilities or a pause, allowing Russia to restore its military, but rather achieving lasting peace.
Barrau added: "A friend of mine from the USA explained to me that their goal is not a fragile cessation of hostilities or a temporary break that gives Russia time to restore its strength, but a sustainable peace."
