President of France Emmanuel Macron is planning to meet with the representative of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Ahmad Ash-Sharif, in Paris. This was announced in the Élysée Palace on Tuesday.
Ahmad Ash-Sharif, who is also the Prime Minister of the GNA, will be in France as part of efforts to support Libya on the path to stability and the cessation of the civil war.
"President Macron will hold a meeting with Ash-Sharif to discuss current issues related to the situation in Libya and the support for the elections taking place in December," the statement from the French presidency’s press service said.
The parties are also expected to discuss the perspectives of the regional security framework, as well as France's support in matters of security and stabilization in Libya.
