PSG Defender Accused of Human Trafficking

Defender Lucas Hernández, a Paris Saint-Germain footballer and world champion with the French national team in Russia 2018, has been reported to the Versailles Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of human trafficking and undeclared work. According to information from the Argentine News Agency, the accusation also extends to his wife, Victoria Triay, and was filed by a Colombian couple who claimed to have worked for the pair between 2024 and 2025 at their residence in Yvelines. According to the court file accessed by the magazine Paris Match, the complainants (a couple and their three children) stated that they performed domestic tasks, childcare, and surveillance duties without a labor contract, without migratory documentation, and with work weeks ranging from 72 to 84 hours. According to their testimony, payments were made exclusively in cash, without receipts or contributions to the French Social Security system, and amounted to around 2,000 euros per month. The complaint states that the relationship began in June 2024, when Triay contacted a 27-year-old nurse in Colombia identified as Marie, who had attended to her during a medical treatment. According to the account, the footballer's wife promised to regularize her work situation in France, which motivated her trip in September of that year without a visa or official documentation. Over the months, the couple is said to have invited the rest of the family under the same promise, which was never fulfilled. Marie and her mother worked as cooks, nannies, and domestic staff, while the men in the family performed security tasks, even at night, without breaks or legal backing. The lawyer for the complainants, Lola Dubois, stated that “the total absence of contracts and contributions demonstrates the intentionality of the crime.” The file also includes the signing of confidentiality agreements in February 2025, despite the absence of a formal labor relationship, and the alleged delivery of false Spanish documentation to simulate a regular situation in Europe. The conflict escalated in October 2025, when Marie and her mother were fired, and subsequently, retroactive contracts are said to have been drawn up with labor conditions different from the real ones. According to Paris Match, Hernández's entourage stated that the player and his wife were unaware of the complaint and expressed surprise at the accusations. The justice system of Versailles continues to analyze the case.
