In Amsterdam, a unique exhibition has opened featuring 72 large photographs of Parisian streets taken by the Siberg brothers. The exhibition titled 'Paris Rooftops' showcases photographs from four competitions held in the streets of France in the early 20th century.
Among the displayed works are images of local residents in long coats, fondly looking at the objective camera in Montmartre in February 1904. In another photo, families can be seen in elegant clothing, gathered around a fountain in the Luxembourg Garden, aiming to escape the heat in the summer of 1906.
16 of the showcased photographs were found in the Baul Museum of Carnival. This archive of photographs by the brothers has gained public representation for the first time at the recently opened exhibition.
