The award ceremony took place at the French Embassy in Cairo in the presence of her husband Khaled Selim, and artists Ihram Shahin, Sherine Reda, Kenda Aloush, Dora, Reham Hegazy, media personalities Mona El-Shazly and Busi Khalaby, directors Inas El-Daghdadi and Yousry Nasrallah, and a number of other artists. The «Legion of Honor» (Légion d’honneur) is the highest medal awarded by the French Republic, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802 to honor individuals who achieve remarkable accomplishments in the fields of culture, science, politics, and humanitarian work.
