French police have arrested famous rapper Zola on charges of participating in the kidnapping and torture of one of his fans. Authorities detained the 26-year-old artist and his three accomplices in the town of Le Plessis-Trevise in the Seine-et-Marne department following a large-scale security operation involving about forty officers. According to the investigation, the incident occurred on the evening of November 6, when a 19-year-old young man went to Zola's home hoping to take a commemorative photo with him. According to the victim's account, the meeting turned into a chase in the street when the young man tried to escape after seeing the violent group accompanying his favorite star. He was then forcibly taken into the house, where he was subjected to hours of physical and psychological abuse, including severe beatings, being forced to undress and have his clothes burned, and threats with a firearm, including shots fired in the basement to terrorize him. The Sun newspaper reported that the attackers seized his phone and bank card, and also damaged his car by puncturing the tires and smashing the mirrors, threatening to kill him if he went to the police. The victim later turned to relatives, who informed the authorities, which led to the launch of a security operation that resulted in the arrest of Zola and his accomplices. The suspects face charges including illegal detention, grievous bodily harm, theft as part of an organized group, and illegal possession of weapons.
