The French newspaper "Libération" has joined the media group with the announcement made on Tuesday. This step marks the end of more than 40 years of independence for the newspaper, which was founded in 1973 by Jean-Paul Sartre and Serge July. The newspaper announced its entry into the media group Nouvelle Société éditrice indépendante de presse (NSEIP), which also includes the magazines "L'Express" and "L'Expansion".
In an article published on the "Libération" website, the newspaper emphasized that this decision allows it to maintain its editorial independence and attract new readers. The chief editor of the newspaper noted that joining the media group ensures financial stability for the publication and allows it to develop in the changing media market.
"We believe that this partnership will allow us to preserve and improve the quality of our journalism in the future," said the chief editor. The new media group plans to invest in developing the content and video services of the newspaper to attract an audience in the online space.
