On Tuesday, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian stated on Sud Radio that Europe will respond to any tariffs introduced by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Le Drian emphasized that France is ready to respond to any measures that may threaten the country's interests. Specifically, he noted that France will determine what actions to take in response to similar actions.
"We should not agree with the idea that if we do not agree, tariffs should be immediately raised. This is unfair; it should not be done," said Le Drian.
He also added that France aims for dialogue and cooperation but is ready to protect its interests and respond to any measures inconsistent with its positions.
