A group of Syrian refugees in France, united in a coalition called "Freedom of Movement and the Right to Return", wrote a letter to President Emmanuel Macron. In their message, they expressed serious concerns about the current situation in Syria and the inadequate political response of the country regarding refugees.
They demand respect and protection of refugee rights, particularly the right to safe return to their homeland. In their opinion, at present, this possibility is complicated due to different circumstances, and without proper support from the government, the chances of the return of Syrians become even less likely.
The letter also discusses the necessity for more effective involvement of France in de-escalating the conflict in Syria and supporting the peace process. Refugees expressed hope that the government pays attention to their request and provides them with the necessary support and protection.
