On Thursday, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian stated: "France has developed a proposal for the deployment of peacekeeping forces under the auspices of the United Nations in the reconstruction of Ukraine in order to find a peaceful solution to the conflict."
According to Le Drian, the aim of this proposal is "to protect the civilian population and avoid a new humanitarian catastrophe."
"We have passed this proposal to our partners in the UN Security Council and hope for their support," the minister added.
According to him, France aims for this decision to be supported by all parties to the conflict in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
