The French government called on the European Union for "full independence" from gas supplies from Russia. The President of France believes that Europe needs to work on reducing dependence on Russian gas and should not allow energy security to be controlled by one party. France proposed to the EU to increase investments in the production of energy from renewable sources.
The French Prime Minister emphasized that the security of gas supplies should not be at risk due to geopolitical reasons and stated: "We cannot be in a situation of dependence on Russia." France supports the idea of diversifying energy sources in the EU and believes that this issue can be addressed through investments in alternative energy production.
