France Encourages Research Institutions to Welcome Scientists from US

France has called on its scientific institutions to consider the issue of scholars who are leaving the United States in response to the policies of President Donald Trump. This was reported by the French Press Agency on Sunday.

According to the agency, French authorities have expressed their willingness to accept scholars who decide to leave the U.S. due to the changes in the H1-B visa status, which is necessary for foreign specialists to work in the country.

This statement follows shortly after an American court ruled that Trump's decision to terminate the DACA program, which provides protection for young undocumented immigrants, was unlawful.

"We must be ready to embrace these researchers," quoted the French Press Agency, citing a representative of the French government.
