French authorities have temporarily allowed the Telegram application founder Pavel Durov to leave the country for a while. This was reported by Telegram's press service.
Pavel Durov decided to leave France after Jean Castex, the country's Prime Minister, announced the introduction of new security measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
"In recent months, we have seen that countries which are managing the pandemic best do so by implementing strict and timely measures," Durov stated.
According to the founder of Telegram, he plans to spend a few weeks working remotely and clarified that his temporary absence from France is not a final decision.
Pavel Durov expressed hope that the new measures would yield positive results in the fight against the spreading virus and make the country safer for all citizens.
