The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, meets with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

At the meeting on Monday in Paris, the two leaders will discuss strategic issues, such as combating climate change, terrorism, and developing relations with Central Africa.

The sides also plan to discuss trade and the economy, including a nuclear agreement with Iran.

This is the first meeting between Macron and von der Leyen since she took office as head of the European Commission.

A week ago, before she started her work in December, Macron called for a deep reform of the Eurozone to prevent its collapse.

Emmanuel Macron expressed hope for a constructive dialogue with von der Leyen, paying attention to the reforming of European institutions.

Von der Leyen also supported the idea of holding a conference on the future of the EU to reassess its priorities and goals.
