French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Friday that the fight against drug traffickers should «respect the sovereignty of states», during a press conference in Mexico City with his counterpart Claudia Sheinbaum.
Macron emphasized the importance of cooperation in this matter, while highlighting the need to adhere to international norms and legal principles. The meeting between the two leaders was focused on discussing ways to combat transnational crime related to the illegal drug trade.
Claudia Sheinbaum, in turn, noted Mexico's readiness for dialogue and joint actions with international partners to address this complex issue.
