PSG won the French Super Cup, their first title of 2026, in a penalty shootout after equalizing with Olympique de Marseille (OM) in the 95th minute thanks to a goal from Gonçalo Ramos, in a frenetic final held this Thursday in Kuwait. For Olympique de Marseille, Panamanian defender Michael Amir Murillo was not a starter but came on in the 77th minute. In the 87th, the Ecuadorian Willian Pacho scored an own goal, leaving the victory to OM, PSG's main rival in France. However, the Portuguese Ramos frustrated the 1993 European champions with a goal in the 95th, following a header pass from Barcola. In a final without extra time, the penalties decided the outcome. Only the Panamanian Amir Murillo scored for OM. PSG, as it did less than a month ago in the Intercontinental Cup against Flamengo, showed more composure. Frenchman Lucas Chevalier, booed by the Parisian crowd, helped forget Russian Matvei Safonov (the hero of PSG in the shootout against Flamengo) by saving two penalties from O'Riley and Traoré. The Parisians did not miss a single one. Murillo scored the only goal in the penalty shootout for his team. The Parisian goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, was key to the new success of the capital's team, both in the shootout, where he saved two shots, and in the 90 regular minutes. PSG of Spanish coach Luis Enrique Martínez thus achieved the fourteenth French Super Cup in its history, strengthening the dominance of the Parisian club in the French landscape. After their memorable 2025, in which the Parisians won six titles, including the coveted Champions League, PSG sweated much more than expected, however, thanks to the tactical moves of Luis Enrique (he brought on Ramos and Bradley Barcola), he managed to straighten the match as the last seconds were ticking. Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in the 13th minute, a goal equalized from the penalty spot by the Englishman Mason Greenwood, in the 76th. Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Desiré Doué beat Rulli.
