Mohammed Yezbik, a member of the national judo team, won the gold medal in the under 73 kg category at the opening of the Paris "Grand Slam" tournament, held two days ago. The competitions took place at the "Accor Arena Bercy" in the French capital, Paris, with the participation of 488 athletes. In the preliminary round, Yezbik overcame Ukrainian Said Khaldo and Britishman Irakli Gogina. In the quarterfinal, he defeated Moldova's Adel Osmanov, the bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In the semifinal, he was stronger than Frenchman Dian Polimetafs, reaching the final. In the decisive bout, Yezbik achieved a major victory over Italian Manuel Lombardo.
