Paris, Reuters — Prominent French politician Raphael Gluckmann said on Tuesday that under President Donald Trump's administration, the United States is no longer an ally of France and Europe, criticizing what he described as Washington's interference in European affairs. "We are not American states, and therefore the US administration should not interfere in European internal affairs, and this is what we must resist," Gluckmann added. A member of the European Parliament and a potential candidate in the 2027 French presidential election, Gluckmann told the LCI news channel: "The United States has been a strategic ally of European democracies for 80 long years. Today, this administration is no longer our ally."
