The French Armed Forces Staff announced on Thursday that American aircraft have been allowed to be temporarily stationed at French bases in the Middle East amid the American-Israeli war with Iran. A spokesperson for the Staff, confirming information reported by LCI channel, stated: 'Within the framework of our relations with the United States, we have allowed their aircraft to be temporarily present in our bases' in the region, noting that 'these aircraft contribute to protecting our partners in the Gulf.' Meanwhile, a source close to French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday that Macron spoke with the Prime Ministers of Italy and Greece and agreed to work together to ensure freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and to coordinate the dispatch of military resources to Cyprus. Earlier, on Tuesday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the deployment of massive military assets, including the aircraft carrier 'Charles de Gaulle' and its accompanying naval and air capabilities, in the western Mediterranean.
