Paris Saint-Germain's international forward Ousmane Dembele and his Spanish coach Luis Enrique receive the highest monthly salaries in French football in 2026, totaling 1.5 million euros and 1 million euros respectively, according to an investigation published by L'Equipe on Thursday. The sports newspaper reported that the top 13 salaries in the league are all paid by European champions Paris Saint-Germain, from Dembele to international goalkeeper Luca Zidane (500,000 euros total per month). Also earning over one million euros (1.15 million dollars) per month are Brazilian defender Marquinhos (1.12 million euros), Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi (1.1 million euros), and French defender Lucas Hernandez (1.1 million euros). The highest-paid player outside Paris is Olympique de Marseille's Danish international midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, whose total monthly salary is estimated at 500,000 euros, ahead of his teammates Mason Greenwood and Geoffrey Kondogbia from the Central African Republic, who each earn 450,000 euros total per month. This is the same amount earned by Paris Saint-Germain's Ukrainian international defender Ilya Zabarny and Lyon's Corentin Tolisso, according to the investigation. Among coaches, Luis Enrique tops the list by a large margin from Lyon's Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca, who earns a total monthly salary of 350,000 euros, ahead of Marseille's new Senegalese coach Habib Beye, who earns 230,000 euros per month. The lowest-paid coach is Benoît Tavino, who earns 25,000 euros total per month at Metz, according to L'Equipe. On average, Paris Saint-Germain pays its players total monthly salaries of 650,000 euros (compared to 647,000 last year), ahead of Olympique de Marseille by 300,000 euros (compared to 250,000 in 2025) and Monaco by 140,000 euros (as in the previous year), according to L'Equipe.
