According to preliminary data from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies of France, unemployment in the country in the second quarter of 2021 decreased to 8.0%, which is 0.3% lower than in the previous quarter. This is associated with the gradual recovery of the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Eastern Piranes noted the most significant reduction in the unemployment rate, reaching a mark of 6.5%, while Paris and the southern region of Provans-Alps-Côte d'Azur also showed a decline. However, not all regions managed to achieve improvements in this indicator.
"Even if this indicator is overall positive, the situation remains unpredictable due to possible consequences of the fourth wave of the pandemic," noted the representative of the institute.
