A woman accidentally swallowed a 17-centimeter spoon when her dog jumped on her while she was eating yogurt. Remy Amelinx said she was on the verge of choking or swallowing the spoon, but she felt it slide smoothly into her stomach. The 28-year-old woman was sitting on the sofa when her active Hungarian Vizsla, Marley, suddenly jumped on her. She put the spoon in her mouth so she could use her hands to reply to a message, and at that moment, Marley decided to jump on her. Remy said: "I panicked, I threw my head back, and before I could comprehend what was happening, the spoon was stuck in my throat." She tried to remove the spoon with her hands. Later, doctors told her that the spoon was too large to pass through her intestines naturally, so she had to go home and wait for an appointment for an endoscopy. Remy added: "That night was difficult, I could feel the spoon moving, sometimes even between my ribs. It was truly terrifying." Doctors had to rotate the spoon inside her stomach, which caused slight gastric bleeding and a sore throat due to esophageal damage. Despite the painful experience, Remy decided to keep the spoon as a souvenir. She said: "Sleeping was difficult because every position reminded me of the spoon in my stomach." The spoon was removed after two days under local anesthesia.
