Buenos Aires, Feb 6 (NA) – Former French Culture Minister Jack Lang has been implicated in the Jeffrey Epstein case after it was revealed that his name appears 673 times among the millions of public documents and emails. According to information from various international media outlets accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the 86-year-old Lang served as Minister of Culture during the socialist presidency of Frédéric Mitterrand and, in that role, created the Fête de la Musique, celebrated on June 21 to mark the beginning of summer. Meanwhile, it was noted that the former French official never denied knowing Epstein, and both Lang and his daughter Caroline had ties to him, although they both claimed they were unaware of the sexual trafficking and corruption network run by the American. Nevertheless, the mere appearance of his name was enough for various French sectors to call for his resignation from his position as director of the Arab World Institute, a major museum located in Paris, which he has held since 2013. However, it was reported that Lang has ruled out doing so. 'At this moment, nothing implicates him in the sexual scandal, but he should reflect on his resignation to protect the institution,' stated Olivier Faure, the first secretary of the French Socialist Party. Additionally, it was learned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Lang at the request of the French presidency and the prime minister, a summons that is expected to take place in the coming days, while his daughter announced her decision to resign from the directorship of the Cinema Producers' Union following the disclosure of the Epstein files.
