France Prepares Flights to Repatriate Citizens from Middle East

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barro announced yesterday that France is preparing to organize flights to repatriate its 'most vulnerable' citizens from Middle Eastern countries affected by the war with Iran. Barro told the news channel 'BFM TV': 'We are preparing flights so that the most vulnerable people, those who need assistance, can benefit when necessary,' without specifying the number of potential beneficiaries. He noted that about 400,000 French citizens are in the affected countries due to the war between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other. Barro added: 'Most of these are French nationals residing in the region, including dual citizens, while others are French just passing through,' encouraging all French citizens to register 'so that their whereabouts can be determined'. He stated that the measures taken vary depending on the countries, explaining: 'For example, we have set up consular teams on the borders between Israel, Egypt, and Jordan, which has facilitated the transit of French citizens wishing to leave by land and then fly from Egypt or Jordan'.
